Orbital Speed Demon is an anomaly event chain triggered by investigating the anomaly with the same name that can appear on asteroids. The event chain is highly beneficial if completed as it adds a permanent free trait to the main species.

Orbital Speed Demon

Orbital Speed Demon - Stellaris Wiki (14)

Attempts to scan the object in high-speed orbit of [anomaly asteroid name] have been unsuccessful. The object quickly falls below [anomaly asteroid name]'s horizon and the [science ship name]'s instruments are simply unable to keep up.

While [anomaly asteroid name]'s gravitational pull is strong, that alone does little to explain the object's extreme momentum. Either the object itself possesses some extraordinary properties, or there is some gravitational phenomenon at work here.

The object's velocity appears to be increasing over time, and Science Officer [science ship scientist] suspects that it may soon be thrown out of orbit, even without outside interference.

Trigger conditions:
  • Not Mechanical or Machine main species

Speed Demon Halted

Orbital Speed Demon - Stellaris Wiki (21)

The object looks to be some sort of box, constructed of alien material. Vein-like ridges meander along its sides, congregating at the top in some type of sphere-shaped mechanism. We can only guess at its contents.

  • Orbital Speed Demon

Alien Box Contents

Orbital Speed Demon - Stellaris Wiki (27)

Finally, our scientists have managed a peek into the alien box without compromising the container itself. By utilizing an advanced type of sonar, they have been able to identify its contents.

The contents are puzzling or, at least, unexpected. The box holds three small vials, each filled with an unknown liquid.

The box is safe to open, but it will require further research to understand how.

Trigger conditions:
  • Speed Demon Halted
Is triggered only by:

Alien Box Opened

Orbital Speed Demon - Stellaris Wiki (35)

At long last, our scientists have penetrated the outer material of the alien box.

The box holds three small liquid-filled vials - one red, one blue, and one green. The liquids are less alien than their container and our scientists have identified them as primed gene-modification mediums.

For reasons beyond our understanding, the solutions are quickly deteriorating outside their alien container, but there should be enough time to synthesize and apply one of them to our species. It has been confirmed that its effects would be positive, but exactly how remains to be seen.

  • Speed Demon Halted

FAQs

What is the orbital speed demon event in Stellaris? ›

Orbital Speed Demon is an anomaly event chain triggered by investigating the anomaly with the same name that can appear on asteroids. The event chain is highly beneficial if completed as it adds a permanent free trait to the main species.

What does the red solution do in Stellaris? ›

Red solution – grants the Social Pheromones trait, which permanently reduces Pop housing usage by 5%

How fast is fastest Stellaris? ›

Just fired necroids up and man is the fastest speed setting is almost too fast. From fast being roughly 3 days per second to fastest being 30 days per second is quite a jump. Granted this is at game start but it will take some getting used to.

What is the point of orbital bombardment Stellaris? ›

Orbital bombardment[edit | edit source]

devastation. Effectiveness is based on the fleet size of the fleet in orbit, although it suffers diminishing returns after 100, and planet size, with every 10 planet size halving damaged from bombardment.

What is the end goal of Stellaris? ›

Players take the role of a single FTL-capable civilization, referred to as an empire, with the goal of exploring and claiming systems, colonizing habitable planets, and expanding their economy to outcompete rival civilizations progressively encountered through first contact events.

What do the unbidden want in Stellaris? ›

Malevolent, war-like and beyond "normal" comprehension, the Unbidden wage an endless war for something they call the Throne of Eternity, the right to which is measured solely in the energy of all living things, from the most insignificant bacterium to the most powerful intergalactic species.

What does the green solution do in Stellaris? ›

The green gene-modification solution has been successfully administered to the [main species name] people. Based on preliminary observations of early subjects, the solution appears to improve our ability to adapt to our environment.

What happens if asteroid hits Stellaris? ›

Asteroid Approaching

An observation post might detect an asteroid on a collision course with the planet. If it's not destroyed before it impacts it will cause an extinction event and either leave the planet barren or reduce the pre-FTL civilization's tech level back to the stone age.

How does FTL work in Stellaris? ›

Faster-than-light travel, often abbreviated to FTL, is the method by which ships traverse the vast emptiness of space between star systems. FTL drives are improved with advancing technology, eventually unlocking drives which can "jump", moving from one system to another in an instant.

What does the quantum catapult do in Stellaris? ›

Once players have constructed a Quantum Catapult Megastructure in Stellaris, they'll be able to use it to launch their fleets or ships to distant star systems, ignoring the normal Hyperlane network.

How many Dyson spheres can you have in Stellaris? ›

A Dyson Sphere is a multi-stage Megastructure. Only one multi-stage Megastructure can be built per system and only one multi-stage Megastructure can be constructed or upgraded at a time.
